Material Productivity Program
We would like to thank you for all continuous improvement efforts that have influenced the success and competitiveness of both our organizations in the previous years. Despite the success, changes in the global marketplace have placed SiemensVDO Automotive under tremendous pressure to further reduce cost. All major OEMs world-wide have been setting up programs to achieve further cost reductions out of material within the next three years. We believe that through the increased focus of our combined efforts we will meet these challenges and secure future growth for both our companies.
Therefore, SiemensVDO Automotive has decided to adopt special measures by setting up a 3-year Material Productivity Program (MPP) with the target to achieve additional 15% productivity (minimum of 5% annual) through supply chain excellence.
Possible focus areas for your ideas are:
- Design changes (e.g. Tolerances)
- Raw material or component changes
- Optimization of production processes
- Harmonization of our logistic processes
- Learn from the best concepts within our industry
- Enhance quality processes
- Review supply chain and selection criteria for sub-supplier
- Review of previous submitted ideas
We would encourage to submit ideas based on your know-how and expertise to our Material Productivity Program (MPP).
