Mass Airflow Sensor
Measurement of Engine Intake Mass AirflowThe Mass Air-Flow sensor (MAF with integrated Design) is used to measure the mass flow of fresh air entering the engine. With gasoline engines, this measurement is used to in combination with other sensor measurements to determine the proper amount of fuel to be delivered to the engine. In the case of a diesel engine, the MAF sensor is used to regulate the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) rate.
The accuracy and dynamic measurement capability of this engine management component are crucial in reducing vehicle emissions. With its pulsation and backflow compensation, the MAF sensor is suitable for all types of gasoline and diesel engines.
