pro.pilot drive encompasses flexible comfort and safety functions to monitor speed and distance from other cars and alleviates the driver from some of his strain, especially on longer, monotonous stretches of road.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), one part of pro.pilot drive, enables the vehicle to adjust its following distance without the driver having to take any action. The Adaptive Cruise Control settings can be displayed on the head-up display or in an instrument cluster.
In future, the scalable, modular structure of pro.pilot drive should enable it to be expanded from simple distance indication and distance warning functions, to functions for adjusting distance and speed and even to active collision avoidance functions.
