A driver can quickly find himself in a dangerous situation if he is distracted for a splitsecond. This is because lane markings do not actively warn drivers when they accidentally leave the lane. Activated at a minimum speed of 60 km/h, pro.pilot lane can apply its Lane Departure Warning (LDW) feature to warn the driver against inadvertent lane changes via a discreet steering vibration. In the future, the system will even be able to be expanded to cover active collision avoidance as well.
