The Vehicle Control Center offers numerous new opportunities to enhance the efficiency of fleets and optimize daily workflows.
VCC Truck Navigation and eHorizon
Our truck navigation system provides a customized solution for freight haulage that caters to the specific navigation requirements of commercial vehicles.
Communication with the automated transmission and cruise control unit also offers additional cost-saving and safety-enhancing opportunities. The eHorizon system informs the appropriate control units about the route profile, e. g. enabling gearshifts to be optimized for gradients and bends to further reduce fuel consumption.
VCC Remote Diagnostics
With a remote diagnostics functionality OEM service stations and fleet managers can be kept continuously informed of the current vehicle status.
If any data indicate a problem, vehicle diagnostics can be run before a scheduled servicing date, enabling optimized spare part logistics and efficient fault resolution. So servicing can be better scheduled according to need.
Predictive diagnostics, already successfully implemented by Siemens in medical solutions and power stations, takes this concept a step further. By constantly monitoring a wide range of sensors, intelligent maintenance systems can detect out-of-range data at an early stage, before any deterioration or failure occurs.
Integration of mobile devices
The Vehicle Control Center will feature a new type of media interface, combining mobile devices with other functions and incorporating them into the vehicle's HMI. This enables us to meet current and future demands in the logistics process and to prepare road freight for the future.
